The Live Nativity returns on December 10,  5–7pm!

Be sure to plan on attending and consider whether you can volunteer to help with this amazing event. All activities will be outdoors and masks are encouraged.

The animals from Gee Funny Farm will be back. Children and adults love to pet the animals and see them up close, and they add to the atmosphere of Bethlehem 2000+ years ago. Actors from Mt Zion volunteer to dress up as nativity scene characters and take shifts so that they can go inside and warm up.

Many opportunities to volunteer

In addition to the actors, think of the many people it takes to make this event an exciting experience for all those attending and think about how you can help. You may be interested in helping with the planning. You could help the property team with the set-up and take-down. The stable, manger, lights, bonfires, signs and decorations need to be set up and taken down before and after the event.

During the event,  behind-the-scenes people are needed to help the actors find their costumes and get dressed, and make sure the actors are scheduled for warm-up breaks. We plan to serve hot chocolate, so helpers preparing and serving will be needed. We need people to tend the bonfires, and direct traffic. Friendly representatives of Mt Zion should be on hand to answer questions, make people feel welcome, and assist our guests where needed.

Let us know if you have more ideas!

We’re not limited to these ideas or volunteer opportunities. Please email Katie Frederick  to volunteer, or if you have any questions or ideas about the Live Nativity. Make sure to invite your friends and family to this event. It’s a great reminder for all ages of why we celebrate Christmas!
