Our Staff

Chris Bremer is the full time office manager at Mt. Zion. She makes sure everything is running smoothly within the office and has sometimes found herself making sure things run smoothly all over the church as well. This includes operating and maintaining the office and equipment (sometimes the office machines just need Chris to give them an affectionate bit of attention before they will continue with the task at hand).  Chris has had over 16 years experience running a church office, 11 of them at Mt. Zion.

Other jobs she has held have been waitress, caterer, childcare provider, phlebotomist (that's the one who draws your blood in the hospital) and secretary to psychiatrists.

When not working in the office at Mt. Zion, Chris enjoys gardening, biking, hiking, kite flying and going to festivals. She has also recently learned to knit with the help of our Knit One, Pray Too healing ministry group.  She especially enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren, Ana and Emma. Send Chris an email at cbremer@mtzionlutheran.org.

Pastor Kendra Mohn is a native of Cherokee, Iowa, where she grew up on a farm with her parents, Jim and Connie, and younger sister, Alicia. She has vivid memories of walking beans, showing hogs at the fair, and spending summer evenings listening to Jack Buck and the Cardinals on the front porch. She attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she majored in music and communication. After college she completed a master’s degree in historical musicology (a combination of musical history, theory, and culture) at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA.

Pastor Mohn attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, graduating in 2005. During seminary, she completed her internship year in the Pacific Northwest at Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn, WA, where it doesn’t rain as much as people say it does, but the sun, and Mount Rainier, do disappear for half the year behind the clouds.

Pastor Mohn began serving Mt. Zion in September 2005. According to Pastor Johnson, she can barely finish a sentence (let alone a sermon) without mentioning the word “community,” which is a hallmark of her ministry. She loves planning and leading worship, preaching, teaching all ages, and getting to know the stories of the people she serves. She loves the energy, inclusivity, and generosity present at Mt. Zion.

Pastor Mohn is married to Rev. Erik Gronberg, who serves as solo pastor of Dr. Martin Luther Church in Oconomowoc, WI. They enjoy running, gardening, and golfing together in their “spare time.” Pastor Mohn’s hobbies include music, reading, and spending time with friends. She is a cellist, loves to travel, and is a big fan of both College Football and Major League Baseball. For details on her allegiances, or just to chat, contact Pastor Mohn at kmohn@mtzionlutheran.org, or 414-258-0456.

Carol Libecki is the editor of the bulletin and newsletter, and greets visitors at the front desk.  Her work and education have been in public relations and marketing for 40 years, 22 years providing executive support (including two churches).  She left the ranks of the employed in 1990 to establish her marketing business providing graphic design, printing, and promotional products until she retired in 2006.
When the position at Mt. Zion became available, she responded.  She says, "I am delighted and thankful to use my skills and talents to serve the Lord Jesus and the people of Mt. Zion."

When not helping to get the word out at Mt. Zion, Carol likes to spend her time with her husband Ron and "Kitty," family and friends. Activities and interests include singing with the Voices of Zion, Bible study, her perennial gardens, crocheting, reading, traveling, and walking. To contact Carol, either call the church office at 414-258-0456 or email her at clibecki@mtzionlutheran.org.

Mike Naumann was added as a part-time youth ministry coordinator in the fall of 2000. Mike serves Christ and our church in this capacity. Mike has worked with high school and middle school youth in a church setting for over 17 years directing service projects, fellowship events, fundraising activities and teaching Christian education classes. He also works part-time at Brady Corporation in Milwaukee where he leads the Company’s acquisition efforts for the Americas’ direct marketing and people identification businesses.

Mike joined Mt. Zion in the fall of 1997 when his family moved to Milwaukee from Racine as a result of a new job opportunity. Mike served on the church council from 1999 – 2000 and stepped aside to pick up the reins of the high school (and subsequently middle school) youth ministry programs. He has shared his gifts in lay ministry leadership positions since he was in college and has enjoyed serving in such positions as evangelism chairperson, stewardship chairperson, staff support chairperson, youth director, Sunday school teacher, board member and council president.

Says Mike, “I am passionate about people sharing their gifts in implementing the mission Christ gave his church, to ‘go and make disciples of all nations…’ I’ve always felt called to serve the church in a way that puts my talents to use for God’s people. Working with young adults has been a real blessing. Youth are the church of today as much as they are the church of tomorrow.”

The son of an ELCA pastor, Mike followed a slightly different calling -- he has an MBA from Indiana University (Bloomington) and a BBA from the University of Cincinnati. He’s been in southeastern Wisconsin since 1982 when he joined SC Johnson in Racine. A native of Pittsburgh, he has been married to Deni for 17+ years and they have a high school age daughter, Sarah.  To contact Mike, call the church office at 414-258-0456 or email him at mnaumann1@wi.rr.com.

John Teichmiller watches over the buildings and grounds of Mt. Zion.  He plays in the praise band, Acacia, as well as in Blue Wagon, a blues band that plays often in the Milwaukee area.  His family has been a part of Mt. Zion since it was first built, with his grandfather being its first custodian.  So, it just felt right when, in 2001, he followed in his footsteps.  If you stop by Mt. Zion, be sure to look John up; he'd be happy to show you around.  You can reach him by calling the church office, or at jteichmiller@mtzionlutheran.org.
