High School

Our high school youth is tremendously active locally and around the United States. During the year, we plan and participate in a variety of service, recreational, fundraising, educational and social activities. We trust and respect each other and our group is a safe place in which to be you. Every person has talents, gifts, experiences and interests that can enrich us all. Come as you are and let us get to know you, too.

Worried that it might be hard to “fit in” at first? Don’t worry. We’re not all from the same part of Milwaukee and we certainly don’t all go to the same high school! We attend Wauwatosa West, Brookfield East, Wauwatosa East, Brookfield Central, New Berlin Eisenhower, Sussex Hamilton, Marquette, Menomonee Falls, and West Allis Hale. You’ll find it easy to be included; we love to welcome new faces!

Here’s the ‘411’ on some of the things we do:

• A week long summer work camp to weatherize and repair homes for elderly, disabled and low income families in places like Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, North Carolina and Georgia.
• Serving supper to the hungry and homeless at a downtown soup kitchen
• Christmas caroling to residents at assisted living homes and to our homebound members
• Wolf River camping and tubing
• Participation in the local CROP walk for hungry people
• Miniature golfing
• An afternoon playing Bingo with residents of a senior center
• Helping with summer Bible school for kids in grades 4 and under
• Helping stage a carnival at our church for mentally-challenged adults
• Pizza and movie nights
• Weekly youth forums on Sunday mornings from September through May to talk about what’s up in the world and in our lives and how living as a follower of Jesus Christ relates to all that

Of course, we have a lot of fun when we get together and help with fundraising projects for our summer mission trip. Car washes, bake sale, plant sale, rummage sale – when you’re as active in the community as Mt. Zion youth, it takes more than spare change to do God’s work!

Friends are always welcome to join us at any activity.
