Our Vision and Mission
After a long process of prayer, conversation, and hard work, a team of Mt. Zion disciples crafted our mission and vision statements. Our vision statement is the way that we see ourselves and our role as the body of Christ. Our mission statement outlines how we believe God will work through us to make that vision a reality. These statements guide and shape our ministry as it grows, changes, and responds to the needs of our communities.

Our Vision
"Gathered by the grace and love of Jesus Christ, the people of Mt. Zion commit to know God deeply and to serve God gladly through the many and diverse gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit."

Our Mission
"With the assurance of God’s faithfulness, we will nurture disciples extend healing and compassion and work for justice in our communities and throughout the world."

ELCA Mission
"Marked with the cross of Christ forever, we are claimed, gathered and sent for the sake of the world."

*Mt. Zion is part of a larger denomination, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), so their mission statement is also part of our own sense of identity and call.
