Local Mt. Zion Partners
At Mt. Zion we are committed to building relationships and making an impact in our local communities. There are many opportunities for people to connect with an already-existing partnership, or to explore a new one. Some are ongoing relationships, like our synod partnerships, and some are more short-term and intense like Habitat for Humanity.

The Greater Milwaukee Synod (the organization that networks and supports ELCA congregations in and around Milwaukee) encourages its congregations to be in partnership with one another in order to gain understanding from one another and strengthen and enrich each other’s ministries.

Our partner congregations are Incarnation and Reformation, so several of our local outreach ministry teams are connected with those partnerships, such as Operation Christmas, the Lenten Giving Cross, collection of School Supplies, and the Mitten Tree.

In addition to these congregational partners, we participate in many other ministry partnerships in Wauwatosa (Tosa), and throughout Southeast Wisconsin including:

TosaCARES Food Panty is located here at Mt. Zion. Donations of non-perishable foods are always welcome, such as: Pasta sauce, noodles, Macaroni & Cheese, soups, canned pastas with meat, tuna, peanut butter, bottled fruit juices, etc.  These can be dropped off in the donation baskets inside church. Pick 'n Save Gift Cards and cash donations are always welcome.

Kyle’s Korner: a local organization supporting the grief process of children and youth who have suffered the loss of an immediate family member. We provide home-cooked meals for the kids when they come to participate in the program.

Special Guests: a quarterly gathering at Mt. Zion of physically disabled adults for fellowship, songs, snacks, and fun.

Christmas has a Heart: an annual event offering the opportunity to utilize support for local organizations as Christmas gifts to family members, colleagues, and friends.

Habitat for Humanity: the local branch of the national organization working to build affordable housing for families in order that they may own their own home.

Mt. Meru Coffee: The Greater Milwaukee Synod has a partnership with the Meru diocese in Tanzania. To support both their diocese and the free trade movement, we have Mt. Meru coffee for sale and periodically host Mt. Meru coffee hour on Sunday mornings to highlight this relationship.

There are always ways to get connected to an existing partnership, or to create a new partnership. For more information, please contact the church office.  In addition, read about the exciting connections Mt. Zion has to ELCA ministries around the country and around the world.
