Reconciling in Christ

We are a Reconciling in Christ congregation.

So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see everything has become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation…
—2 Corinthians 5:17-18

Our Vision

Gathered by the grace and love of Jesus Christ, the people of Mt. Zion commit to know God deeply and to serve God gladly through the many and diverse gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit.

Our Mission

With the assurance of God’s faithfulness, we will nurture disciples extend healing and compassion and work for justice in our communities and throughout the world.

ELCA Mission

Marked with the cross of Christ forever, we are claimed, gathered and sent for the sake of the world.

Mt. Zion is part of a larger denomination, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), so their mission statement is also part of our own sense of identity and call.
